The companies of the Republic of Lithuania, organizations and individual persons purchase and use hydraulic loading cranes (manipulators) (further referred to as loading crane). These are mobile and reliable lifting devices, meant for lift loading and unloading.
The purpose of the program – to teach the worker how to safely control (use) a loading crane: this means that he should receive quality training, according to the technology and requirements, to provide provision using safe working methods, to check the lifting crane, to ensure the safety of the control of the crane that carries out various load lifting and storage works, in order to protect human life, health and environments from the harmful impact of the device.
The loading crane (hydraulic manipulator) operator training program is designed by expanding and modifying some parts of the Operator for Hydraulic manipulator training program registered at the Studies and Training Registry that has been applied until now.
According to the requirements of the lifting cranes user regulations, in order to control a loading crane and to be able to provide constant supervision, persons no younger
than 18 years of age are assigned, who have been trained upon this training program and have been certified, and are able to provide a valid medical outcome of a recent
health check from a medical institution, which proves the suitability for this position. The loader crane is usually mounted on trucks or tractors, therefore, persons in
possession of a vehicle must have a driver's license for category C or a tractor. There are no specific requirements for work experience, and for this reason this training
program is available for those persons who have no experience.
The duration of study is 3 weeks (120 hours). The theoretical training, which is organized at the training institution, takes 48 hours. The practical training takes 72 hours. The practical training is organized at the practical training locations (how it is stated in the issued training license) at a company or training institution, where the training of safe loading crane handling and safe load cross-over takes place. During the practical training at a company based on the training contract, the training institution must submit a practical training plan and ensure that the assigned practice supervisor and the practical training leader who carries out the practical training (instructor) fulfils the requirements of the training program, and make sure that the conditions for gaining relevant loading crane handling skills are provided. The persons who take part in the practical training must receive instructions of how to work with a specific device, according to the user manual of that device.
The results of training are assessed by an exam, which involves theoretical knowledge testing and an evaluation of the practical skills. At the end of training a certificate is issued (code 3106).
